Our Fertile Grounds project is focused on bridging the metabolic gap. The metabolic gap is the disparity between where food is grown and where it is consumed. Our projects include school gardens, city gardens, and CSAs (community supported agriculture). We look to create more of these food production systems, either by original creation or support for existing groups. Currently we are looking for funding to grow two acres of urban gardens in Oakland. We are also looking for volunteers to work in local east bay schools, helping them create or sustain their current urban garden projects.
